14)Palagnedra – Bordei - Gridone (2188 m. s/m.) (4½ Ore)
Starting from Palagnedra railway station and following the cantonal road you reach the village of Bordei. A visit to it is more than worthwhile as it has been completely reconstructed in rich detail during the last 30 years. At an altitude of 726 m begins a demanding ascent along the Bordei Valley, to reach the “Bocchetta di Valle” at an altitude of 1930 m. The top will be reached continuing on the right-hand side. During clear weather, the view extends over all of the Sopraceneri, the Alps and the “Pianura Padana” (Po-River Plain) including the Duomo (Cathedral) of Milan. Return either on the same trail or reach the “Capanna di Legn” (Legn hut) from “Bocchetta di Valle” in about 30 minutes. Then descent to Brissago. This itinerary is rather long and difficult.
