Until the construction of today's road (second half of 1800), this was the only connection for the people of the upper valley to the city of Locarno. Several historical evidences make this mule-track a particularly interesting one. After the village of Borgnone the beautifully restored park of the mills “Parco dei Mulini” can be visited. Before arriving at Lionza you find the “Cappella di Tesa”(Tondů) (Tesa chapel). At Verdasio you can admire the typical patrician houses. The trail continues to Slögna, passing the villages of Calezzo and Costa, and terminates in Intragna, well known for the highest bell tower of the Canton Ticino (65 m) and the regional museum.
